Jenny (Hostetler) White '89

******************************************
Will you be attending the reunion? No

Where are you living now? Colorado Springs, Colorado

Email: Jenny@whitehome.org

Tell us about your husband: I met Steve at High Wycombe. He was the DARE instructor on base. I have been so blessed to have him as a husband! We got married Sept 1990. I can't believe we have been married for 17 wonderful years! Shortly after we got married, Steve was stationed at the University of Arizona where we both finished school. After attending OTS, Steve left active duty in 1997 and has been in the National Guard or Reserves ever since. He is currently the Vice President of IT at Young Life here in Colorado Springs.

When did you meet? 1989

And your kids? We have three WONDERFUL children. Our oldest, Jessica is almost the same age I was when I came to LCHS. She just got her permit this last summer and is a sophomore in high school! Our second daughter will be 13 this week (OCT). She is in 7th grade and a lot like me. Our son is 11 and just started middle school. I can't believe how fast they are growing up! I think that in less than 2 years I will be the shortest in my family. Jess is already almost 5'8" and the other two are pushing 5'3". We have also had 8 foster children ranging in age from 8 weeks to 3 years old. Most of them were only with us a few days to a few weeks. We did have one little girl who came to us at 17 months old and left 20 months later when she was 3. She will always be a part of our family. She is 5 now and just started kindergarten this year. She is living with an aunt, but we get to hear about her from time to time from my friend who has her older brother.

Occupation: By the time the Reunion comes I will be a Grad Student!

Where have you lived since graduation? After graduation I spent a year at Washington State University. I got married and lived in Tacoma Washington until 1993. We went to the University of Arizona from 1993-1995 and then moved to San Antonio Texas until 1997. We lived in Vancouver, Washington from 1997 until last summer. Now we are in Colorado Springs, Colorado and I love it here! (Although my whole family is now in Vancouver and we miss being there too)

What would you consider to be your greatest accomplishment? I think my greatest accomplishment is raising 3 WONDERFUL children who (so far) seem to be headed down the right path!

If you could do anything differently, what would it be? I can't think of anything I would do different.

What is the one thing you know now that you wish you knew then? To step back and enjoy the time I am in because it will pass faster than one could ever imagine. I remember counting the days until graduation, thinking they would NEVER come! Now I look back and wonder where the last month or year went.

What do you miss most about LCHS? Seeing my friends every day!

What was the best part of going to school in England? Hanging out with friends, going into London on the weekends and meeting my husband :)!

Why do you think we have such a unique bond? I think the bond we have is so unique because we lived together. We all moved around a lot and because of that there it was easy to get to know each other quickly. It was like living with two dorms full of brothers and sisters. Some you loved, some you didn't...but we were all in it together!

What was your favorite class? Yearbook

Who was your favorite teacher? Ms. Williams (Psychology & PE) 87-88

Do you have a favorite memory? I have lots of favorite memories...in the dorms, the AYA, London, walking up to the movie theater, Peer Helpers....there are so many I can't name just one.

Anything else you want to share? As I look back over the last 20 years since I started at LCHS (fall 1987) I am in awe over all the wonderful things that God has done in my life. The people he has brought into it and the places he has taken me. Everyone I new at LCHS touched my life in some small way. Some of you blessed my in little ways that you may never know. I wish I could be at the reunion. I am sure it will be a blast!
